Both the 40k and 50k ride keep riders in North Carolina on mostly rolling river valley terrain with a few steep climbs in the 50k route. The 100k is another beast. Riders descend into South Carolina and make the infamous climb back up and over Caesars Head, a seven-mile climb up a 6 percent grade. Fast Strava times up this monster are sub 30-minutes, but remember, this is a charity ride, not a race. • www.assaultonthecarolinas.com
