REEB Ranch

The Oskar Blues REEB Ranch, located on the backside of DuPont State Recreational Forest, launched its grand opening this spring, and now offers public access to the bike park, trails, cold beer and food. REEB hired Matt Hartell, owner of Old Town Outfitters in Guatemala, to oversee the operations of the property. Hartell said the Ranch will offer guided rides, REEB rentals, kids camps and more.

REEB3“We’re here to be a destination,” said Hartell. “We want to move away from the weddings and events and focus on being true to ourselves. We want to offer everything the folks at Oskar Blues stand for.”

That would namely be less politics and more pedaling. The bike park is open to the public, complete with part of the course from the Red Bull Dreamline BMX contest that took place in 2014, and some more toned-down areas for both kids and adults.

The pump track will allow riders to hone their skills, while little ones will have a safe, maintained zone where they can practice.

Trail access to DuPont, camping and concerts are also on the schedule. The Loaded Up and Truckin’ “food truck-off and aural pleasure fest” is slated for April 15, and the successful BurningCan beer and music festival will return July 21 and 22.

Bike2017DirtDiggler33With their ever-growing events roster, and their expanded public access to the park, Hartell is looking forward to developing the ranch into an all-inclusive biking destination. And, of course, the Ranch is the perfect place to try out one of REEB’s hand made American bikes. REEB now offers the full suspension SQWEEB, their 650b trail bike, the SixFidy, and their hardtail jump bike, the Dikyelous, all of which will available to rent at the ranch. The REEB Ranch is located at 315 Shoals Falls Rd. off Crab Creek Rd., just past the turn onto DuPont Road if you’re driving from Brevard to Hendersonville.
